He then went on to report that from the PACT meeting, a roving camera had been set up in Twyford Road and since it had been set up there had been very few problems reported in the road. The camera had now been taken down but it was going to be brought back in the school holidays. He also reported an upsurge in car crime over the past week but anti-social behaviour had gone down. There had been a few isolated incidences on the new build at Williams Field but they had been reported anonymously. There had also been a spate of bicycle thefts in the village and one had been caught on CCTV. Joyce O’Mordha reported that the Hadlow Pharmacy had been experiencing a spate of shoplifting but PC Andy Sargeant and John Lees stated that nothing had been reported to them officially.

CS380.   Community Warden

John Lees reported that the keys to the Village Hall Annexe were due to be handed over on the 25th July and that he, Holly Wilkes and a few others were trying to raise funds to buy equipment for the Annexe. The football tournament was not going as well as planned as none of the parental consent forms had been           handed back.  John reported that he was going on a course to enable him to drive minibuses. He had received reports from Albert Longford that he was being pestered in Tonbridge by Hadlow youths but could do nothing about the situation. He also said that sadly the youth club in the St Mary’s church rooms had been disbanded due to lack of members. He stated that he was working lots of late shifts which he felt were helping to reduce the crime figures. Mrs Joyce O’Mordha commented that sadly Simon Huggins was giving up teaching football as he could find no-one to help him.

CS381.   Community Speed Watch

Richard Munro did not attend the meeting and sent no report. Cllr Mrs Hyams reported that cars were speeding by Great Elms and it was very difficult to turn right out of the junction and Anne Hughes reported that her grandchildren had nearly been run over at the bottom of Carpenters Lane by a speeding motorist.

CS382.   Tonbridge & Malling Crime Prevention Panel

Cllr Mrs Bell was not present so no report could be given.

CS383.   CCTV

The clerk reported after much aggravation, the CCTV was finally installed properly and working very well. The pictures were very good on it but unfortunately the CCTV had been ripped out by youngsters at the Hadlow Village Hall and footage had been lost of the incident but the CCTV had now been repaired successfully. Cllr Terry enquired about the signage and the clerk said she would look into it.

CS384.   Parish Emergency Plan

It was agreed that the clerk, Mrs Ann Hughes and Cllr. Mrs Bell would arrange a meeting in July to look at the Parish Emergency Plan.

CS385.   Questions from Members

There were no questions from members.
