Hadlow
Parish Council is governed by the Local Government Acts and come under the
jurisdiction of Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council and Kent County Council.
The Parish
council are governed by Standing Orders and policed by the Standards Board.

What we spend and how we spend it
The Parish
Council raises money in various ways:

out The Hadlow Old School Hall

out Hadlow Old School Hall Annexe

out the Hadlow Medical Centre

out the football pitches at Williams Field

Cemetery

and Maintenance of the Hadlow Old School Hall and Annexe and car park

and Maintenance of the Hadlow Medical Centre

and Maintenance of the football pitches at Williams Field

and maintenance of the Cemetery and St Mary’s Churchyard

Upkeep
and maintenance of the footpaths

Upkeep
and maintenance of the play areas in Hadlow and Golden Green

Upkeep
and maintenance of the area around Hadlow Village Hall and car park

Upkeep
and maintenance of the allotments

and maintenance of the CCTV system

costs (Stationery, stamps, telephone, computers)
A financial
report is presented to the full Parish Council meeting on a monthly basis to be
approved. This will now be published on the website. Quarterly accounts are
also prepared and these are available to view at the Parish Office, by
appointment. Copies can be provided at a charge of £1.00 per copy up to five
pages and £5.00 for all pages over.
All
building, grounds maintenance and major works carried out by the Parish Council
have to be tendered or quoted for. A minimum of three tenders/quotations are
required and a decision on awarding the contracts is made on a best practice
basis.

Hadlow Parish Council will have spent money on:-

the memorials in St Mary’s closed churchyard and

Upgrading
the CCTV system

children’s play equipment at Williams Field

fencing at the Dog Walking Area at Williams Field

all the borders under the Parish Council’s remit.
What are our Priorities and how are we doing.
·
The
priorities, strategies, plans and assessments of Hadlow Parish Council are set
out in our Parish Plan. This is available to view at the Parish Office by
appointment.
·
The
Parish Plan is reviewed on an annual basis to ensure that the goals and plans
within it are being achieved. Many of the goals and plans on the Parish Plan
have now been achieved.
·
Staff
and Health and Safety matters are assessed on an annual basis
·
The
finances of the Parish Council are scrutinised by internal and external
audits.
How do we make decisions
Policy
proposals and decisions are made by various committees and are validated by the
full Parish Council at monthly Parish Council meetings. All committee meetings
and Parish Council meetings are open to the public. Minutes of the meetings are
published on the website or are available to view by appointment in the Parish
office. Agendas for Parish Council meetings are published on our notice boards
and on the website. Notification of Parish Council meetings are published in
the church newsletter and in The Hamlet. An annual review is made of all
committee procedures, policies and decisions.
